En raison de l’inondation par les eaux du Nil des terres fertiles de la vallée, un premier barrage est construit en 1902 par les Anglais. ""Démontrant"" ses limites, la construction d’un second ouvrage – plus grand – s’impose.

Supongo que se refiere a que los límites se han sobrepasado o algo así, pero no encuentro ninguna acepción de démontrer que me lo confirme.
