Querung:
ist ein sich seitwärts (links oder rechts, auf- oder absteigend) von der Lotrechten entfernender Routenverlauf. Absteigende Querungen sind für den Nachsteigenden einer Seilschaft anspruchsvoll, befindet sich doch die nächste Sicherung immer tiefer als man selbst. Längere Querungen werden auch Traversen genannt.
