Ik ben nog verder gaan spitten en zo is de discussie toch waardevol gebleken, via Kluwer Technisch Woordenboek en o.a. Joost de Vree kwam ik uiteindelijk bij de helemaal juiste term terecht: zoetschaaf, ook wel vlakschaaf genoemd.

disagree  Willem Wunderink: Gipsschaaf = Gipshobel. Zoek op Putzhogel en 99% is een houtschaaf met 1 mes.... Bijv: https://www.idealo.de/preisvergleich/ProductCategory/19087F1... Ik betwijfel of 'Puts context is, vandaar mijn vraag onder 'Discussie'.

  -> Klopt Willem, maar zoals de vraagsteller schrijft, gaat het hier dus niet om hout, maar om pleisterwerk. Als ze die informatie er niet bij had geleverd, zou ik er ook van zijn uitgegaan dat het om een houtschaaf ging.

disagree  freekfluweel: Een houtschaaf heeft maar één mes, een gipsschaaf is meer een rasp! Als je een houtschaaf gebruikt bij gips kan je die later nooit meer voor hout gebruiken!

  -> Leg dat de Duitsers maar uit, dat ze een heel verkeerde term voor hun gereedschap gebruiken!... :-)
