Explanation:
Further to the discussion entries, I am now posting this as a possible answer. Please see there for further details, although I have reproduced the links below. I know the term "Bildmarke" from the trademark field, where it is used to refer to a figurative mark, i.e. a trademark consisting of an image or picture rather than words, but here it does seem to refer to a visual brand created by way of a photographic brand.

Design agency rehabstudio in London and Belfast have just created a new visual brand identity for Fisher Clinical Services ...

In collaboration with photographer Christoffer Rudquist (Wallpaper, Monocle), rehabstudio shot original photography across six months in Fisher's UK and Swiss plants, showcasing the ethereal architectural beauty of the hermetically sealed, temperature controlled clinical facilities. The monochromatic, almost ghostly photographs communicate the scale and futuristic nature of the complex technical machinery and processes of this global scientific operation.

agree  mill2: if reference is made explicitly to photography

disagree  Amphyon: this includes also other design elements (colours, typography, etc), not only photography!!

-> I do understand your point of view. However, the asker's text contains two terms, i.e. "Bildmarke" and "Fotomarke". How do you suggest distinguishing between the two?

agree  Stephen Reader: With mill - the context should do it. But possibly even so, the less transparent, borrowed tech. term to open the sentence, if (?) the author used it that consciously - then 'v. brand' (-ing), tag, look, slant, etc., in the follow-up.
1 hr
-> Thanks, Stephen. Interesting point re blip - as you say, it would depend on the target readership.

agree  Eleanore Strauss: visual brand is good. I'm a brand specialist and this designation is spot on, if the context is explained thereafter (as per Stephen Reader). If specifics are needed, a photographic brand would also work. I've worked with photographers who used that.

disagree  mill2: this is not what is meant - it's about guidelines for images / Das kann gut sein, aber in der Übersetzung muss berücksichtigt werden, was gemeint ist, nicht, was laut Wörterbuch das Wort bedeutet
38 mins

visual tag

Explanation:
Not sure if this is the same thing, but in ref to Armorel's GER ref, I suggest visual tag would be much nearer than 'brand' which I agree is far too encompassing a notion.

There are many scenarios where the combination of visual tags and camera phones can be employed. Maybe you're walking down a city street and see a poster for a movie or a play. On the poster is a visual tag. By using a camera phone, you could click on the visual tag to get more information on the film. Additionally, there may be an option to buy your tickets right then and there.

[...]

Visual tags encode information in two parts: a service identifier and a data block. The service identifier encodes the name of the Bluetooth service to which a tag relates. The data block contains a few bits of application-specific information that are used to identify a particular tag.

Like anything else they can be designed to fit within a corporate brand identity, I guess.

Reference: Bildmarke/blip

Reference information:
The following references help clarify the "blip" issue - but your writer is clearly using the term in a different sense.

agree  Stephen Reader: Yes, providing the trans. (however immoral & dastardly) improves on the orig. by making plain that 'Bildmarke' is metaphorical here. It'll work - neatly! - if target readership's familiar with the strict meaning.

agree  Helen Shiner: You've found the right definition. I wonder whether this is the same thing: http://web.media.mit.edu/~ankit/bokode/bokode_sig09.pdf
