Entwurf

English translation: design

German to English translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting / judicial decision
German term or phrase: Entwurf
Entwurf für eine Tourismusbroschüre
Plakatentwurf
In both cases the "Entwurf" is by a renowned poster artist. My question is: Are posters / tourist brochures "designed", drafted or what. I'd be grateful for any help on this one.

Explanation:
Since they were more or less used unchanged, they are designs.
A draft would be the beginning of the process, the central idea sketched. Here, it seems that design would be more appropriate.

  -> Thanks Helen, Happy Spring!

agree  Michael Wetzel: agree completely with Helen/Ramey ... if the context is a translation that is 1000% for specialists (graphic designers, not art historians), there may be some jargon term for this, but I wouldn't know what else it could be

  -> Dunno either, actually. thanks Michael,

agree  Lancashireman: Not sure why 'draft' is even being considered here.

  -> IT's a mystery.......thank-you Sir Andrew!

agree  Edwin Miles: But see discussion above... "draft design"
2 hrs
  -> that would be a "sketch" which in this case doesn't apply as only minor, if any changes were made to the original. thanks for your support!
