term used in these circumstances, i.e. after editorial & design work has been done but before printing is "pre-print version". There are some 4.400 web hits for this term with "poster".

Design seems more generally apt than draft, esp. for posters (cf. Helen @ Ramey's entry). / W/Helen re. 'draft design'; but there's also a 'final draft' (tho' more often applied to text than to images?), almost as final as final design which cd go to print as is, one presumes with all details. Since a brochure/leaflet can be presumed to contain a good deal of text, illustrated, as opposed to posters where text is secondary to image (with esp. Dada, Bauh's ff. an exception - typography *is* image or integral to), draft sounds fine for the brochure, on par with design. Then there's 'layout' etc., but think irrelevant here. LG to all.

But a draft design for a poster would be no more than a sketch and wouldn't be sent to the printer in that state.

I've never come across draft being used in such circumstances. Original design, amended/reworked design, final version of design - all of these are familiar to me as someone working daily in this field.

These Entwürgfe were then taken by the printer, modified slightly for printing reasons and then printed, OR they were changed by the artist in various ways before going to the printers. Unfortunately the captions for the exhibits (since that is what they are) do not indicate which of these processes applied. MOst were used more or less unchanged.

the way I see it a poster in its final version has been designed, earlier incarnations are drafts. Since you have Entwurf in both cases here, suggesting that both have yet to be finalised I would go with draft, but that is just my opinion.
