German term or phrase: um Faktoren beeinflussen
"Die Temperatur kann das Testergebnis nicht um Faktoren beeinflussen."

This is from an e-mail discussing the test results. It is saying that a change in temperature would not have a major effect on the test results. I cannot translate it like this, though, because I need to stick very close to the original meaning.

to be a factor in

Explanation:
"The temperature is not much of a factor in the test results."
This is an informal style, but that should not be a problem for an email.

-> I am curious how that would look in mathematical terms. Temperature could be a single a factor but not more than one factor.

agree  Richard Stephen: I think this answer would be acceptable if we added 'major' as in a 'major factor'

-> Thanks for the +1, but don't get all redundant, please. "Not much of a major factor"?
