Dazu kann man eigentliche nur sagen: "Wer Unsinn sucht, wird auch Unsinn finden". Damit kann man Irrtümer nciht aufdecken. Und, bitte nicht immer so bissig sein.
Der Bezeichnung "Perchloressig" meint Perchloressigsäure. "Per-" bedeutet, dass alle Wasserstoffatome (hier durch Chlor) ersetzt worden sind. Das ist bei Essigsäure max. 3-fach möglich. Der richtige Name ist also Trichloressigsäure, auf Englisch "trichloroacetic acid".
Um dies abzuleiten, bin ich jetzt systematisch, von der Essigsäure ausgehend, vorgegangen. Meinen Eintrag zu "Hexachlorethan" habe ich demzufolge gelöscht.

Err...OK. If you add -perchlorekelschmekel, you won't get any results because the database doesn't have anything close to that in length, i.e., number of characters.

Yes, perchlorethane = hexachloroethane. What does this have to do with Perchloressig? You've clearly confuscated the German and English terms.
As a chemist, I don't even know how Perchloressig could be interpreted as perchloric acid, but I understand that different people have different perspectives.

Has nothing to do with hexachloroethane (Hexachlorethan, Perchlorethan, Perchloressig)
It's a synonym according to the NIH PubChem page (see 3.4.2 Depositor-Supplied Synonyms > 67. perchloroacetic acid) and is most reasonable based on the name. I'm not sure that it's normally used as an industrial washing additive. The asker in the Researchgate discussion had a compound structure (that was not perchloroacetic acid) and was determining its name. We are doing the opposite.
