German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Forestry / Wood / Timber / Forestry equipment
German term or phrase: Muldenfräse
XXX (company name) ist ein Hersteller von Forst- und Muldenfräsen.

This is one of about 500 "Bildunterschriften" I have to translate, and this is all the context I have. The photo that goes with it doesn't help at all. Forestry equipment is not my line of business, so I'm really grateful for any help.

No hits, unfortunately, for 'forest' or 'woodland' rotovators (alt. spelling 'rotavators'). Perhaps 'heavy-duty rotovators' will do for both?

troughs cutter / rotary troughs cutter

Explanation:
troughs = open receptacles of plants
Fräse = milling cutter (general meaning) / shaper (for metals) so I suggest rotary cutter since no 1:1 term seems to exist for the given term.

It is a rotary through cutter actually and is commonly know as rotary cutter. As for the change in context (mulden to mulchen) it renders troughs cutter useless. However generally rotary cutter is on the right track.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks a lot for trying to help, Kcda, but it's not always as simple as that. If I needed no more than a word-for-word translation, I wouldn't have to ask the KudoZers for help but could look the words up in any dictionary. Das ist aber nicht der Sinn der Sache, is it?
