senior forestry councillor Explanation: I would leave the title in German and use a translation in brackets. There is no equivalent in the UK or the US as the forestry structure is so different, so one would have to rely on a literal translation such as mine 10 years in German Forestry |

Senior or Chief Forestry Official Explanation: The phrase "Koenigl. Wuertemburgische Oberforstrat" would then be the "Royal Wuerttemberg Forester" as a title for Georg Ludwig Hartig. Without more context, I am not sure if this fits, but I hope it helps nonetheless. -Jason Oxford-Duden German Dictionary |

(chief commissioner of woods of the royal house of Württemberg) Explanation: My oldest dictionary dating from 1909 gives "Forstrat" as commissioner of woods. Hartig seems to be famous for starting modern forestry and his life history is at the link below, including his later illustrious forestry career - it explains the background to the title, summoned by the King to this position in 1806, basically a head forestry commissioner by royal appointment.
