The definitions I've been able to find for Scholle all have to do with blocks, clumps and sheets, none of which seem to fit this context ideally, although "sheets" seems to come the closest, and searching for more descriptions of these units hasn't yielded any new information. I did find a definition of "Deckscholle" as fault outlier, nappe outlier or thrust outlier, and this area has all that, but it's not clear that that is what is meant. Can it just mean inclusions? The reason I list the term or phrase as "Schollenzone" rather than just "Scholle" is that there are a lot of references online to the "Lisabichl Schollenzone," so if I can find out what that is, it will be a good indication of what is meant here. (This is in Austria, if that helps). Thanks for any input.

Explanation:
should fit (Lisabichl Schollenzone - Lisabichl zone of slices).

For 40 km on either side of Motagua River Valley lies a complicated boundary zone of fault slices between the two blocks where high-P/T rocks occur:

The Rosman Fault marks the sharp tectonic contact between the Chauga Belt and the Blue Ridge belt within the Brevard Zone. It contains relatively unmetamorphosed slices of carbonate and shale:

The fault zone consists of several structural slices of rocks of differing degrees of metamorphic modification:

Fault-bounded slices of mafic and lesser ultramafic rocks lie along the northeast edge of Alexander Terrane south of Kluane Lake in the Slims River area:

The quartzphyllite described by former authors can be divided into two parts: The Lower-Paleozoic phyllite with pyritebearing blackschists and the Permian carbonaceous phyllite associated with alpine Verrucano. The Triassic, in Radstadt Tethian facies, overlies transgressively the gneiss-lamella of Weisspriach (region of Gurpitscheck near Ulnhütte, figure 1). Therefore this gneiss-lamella is part of the Radstädter Dekkensystem. Staurolite-garnet bearing micaschists which form synclines were found along the southern rim of the Schladminger Gneisdecke (figure 2). The basis of Nock-Kristallin, which overlies the window of Hohe Tauern consists of a big diaphthoritic zone (regressive metamorphism). Here the rocks are phyllitic garnet-micaschists with slices of rather "sound" garnet-micaschists and gneisses (selective retromorphism). They are overlain by an alternating succession of staurolitegarnet bearing micaschists and paragneisses (biotite-andesine/oligoclase-gneisses) which show the relatively well preserved pre-Triassic metamorphic crystallization in amphibolite facies:

Plate zone

Explanation:
Reasonably certain- I've been out of exploration geophysics for quite a while now after over 30 years of it.

This must be something to do with plate tectonics (Palaeozoic or Hercyninian) in Austria (Lisabichl)

Hi Barbara,

something like this, perhaps:
"The Katschberg quarz-phyllite represents a progradient, metamorphic, strongly graphitically pigmented, sericite-chlorite-quarz-phyllite series of variable thickness which contains layers and plates of banded calcareous marbles, mica-rich marbles and dolomites with ankerite inclusions (ferrous dolomite – Lisabichl plate zone)"

I've been out of this too long - I think it should be quarzite-Phyllite, rather than quarz-phyllite.

Typing's lousy, too! Quartz is, of course, with a "t"

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hmmm.. if this is so, it leaves me even more confused about how to translate the above paragraph. I can't imagine that they mean "graphitic quartz plates." It definitely has a lot to do with tectonics, though. Most of the entries in this project have to do with nappe zones and metamorphic processes.
