to rope s.o. in for Explanation: The original "einspannen" derives from harnessing horses - so it has to do with not being on an equal level but someone else "pulling" something for another. Imho the verb should reflect the negative connotation of the object - the improper dealings - Machenschaften - and that one person probably had an advantage over the other. "use for" would be a less figurative alternative. |
