Von den Anfängen mit der Gründung der Eisenverhüttungsanlage Ludwigstal im Jahre 1696 bis zur modernen High-Tech-Medizin soll der Bogen gespannt werden.

Here I am not sure how to best phrase this and not really sure how to include the 'soll' when it relates to the past until now.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
