Getting back to Andrew’s point. Is “indulge" over the top? It sure is. But so is “erleben”. I doubt that browsing through an inflight magazine would count as an “Erlebnis” for most people. But in the end, we’re just the messengers here. Our job is not to judge the source text but to reflect its style and register.
