Eine PC-Software (Windows) nimmt die mit einem Handscanner erfassten Barcodes entgegen und vergleicht sie mit der von Peachtree gelieferten und quartalsweise aktualisierten Datenbank mit einem Teile-Vorcast.

Maybe it's just a cognate of "forecast," but I didn't get that many google hits for "Vorcast," and it's not in the LEO dictionary or my Webster's.
