In seinem letzten Statement zum Klang des Erfurter Dialektes zieht derselbe Informant, der den Dialekt wenige Minuten zuvor als wohltuend süddeutsch beschrieb schließlich doch eine Parallele zum Sächsischen, auch wenn er diese durch die Beschreibung „allerhöchstens *hauchweise*“ stark entkräftet. Im Kontext begründet er die ihm mögliche Unterscheidung zwischen Erfurter und Sächsischer Mundart nochmals, indem er auf seine Erfahrungen mit Sprechern des letztgenannten Dialektes hinweist:
