benefit from Dieter Meier's contributions and influence Explanation: Wirken und Schaffen is an idiomatic expression suggesting that somebody's work had significant positive impact on a large number of people. Hard work could mean very industrious but says nothing about intellectual leadership which also needs to be part of the equation here. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2019-07-18 15:44:00 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "You can gain" is not idiomatic. Perhaps this would work: "Even today, we stand to gain from/reap the benefit(s) of.." |

benefit from Dieter Meier's hard work and creativity. Explanation: Or something along those lines. But I think you should use "you" rather than the passive voice. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2019-07-18 15:51:55 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I think you've misunderstood my comment. "Benefit" is not the imperative. I'm suggesting "you can benefit". |
