Für die Praxis bedeutet die NP-Vollständigkeit, dass ein exaktes Verfahren für große Probleminstanzen eine zu hohe Rechenzeit benötigen würde, um das globale Optimum zu bestimmen.

I've found the other entries in proz.com where "für die Praxis" is mentioned but they don't seem to answer my question as to what "Für die Praxis" could mean here. Does the author simply mean something like "For the record", or "To explain, or "To clarify"?
