German to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals
German term or phrase: Klinikbereich
Klinikanforderung for a drug not registered in Austria.

" Das Praeparat findet ausschliesslich im Klinikbereich Anwendung."

Does it mean that the medicinal product is intended for 'clinical use' only, or that it will be used in hospitals only?

Thanks for your help.

Asker: Thanks, but I don't think that's it, actually. Clinic=Ambulanz, so they would had probably used "Ambulanzbereich" had they wanted to express that idea...

Asker: Yeah, I know. That's my dilemma, too. "For clinical use' means sth else entirely--it means that the drug may be used, say, in private office-based practices as well. I wonder... a German native would have to decide here....
