Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals / Vial Manufacture

And from a bit earlier in the same text:

This is a text about the manufacture of vials for medical products, problems with the manufacturing process and so on. I'm having enormous difficulty with the expression "von der Technikseite aus". Can't make any sense of "Technikseite". I thought perhaps it might mean standpoint or perspective, but the context seems to suggest a specific side of something? TIA for your help.

at the equipment area side/technical area side
Explanation:
This refers to the equipment area, which is separated from the actual production area in the filling plant due to contamination and cleanliness requirements.

Yeah, I do think they are referring to a location rather than a group of people, so I went with "technical area side", which may well be a part of the lab or factory separate from the cleanroom side (as Anne's answer also referred to). Quite tricky though. Anyway, many thanks to everyone for your help.

Explanation:
Technikseite is rather generic and I would normally translate it as "by the technical department", but would be more specific depending on the environment.

Assuming this is going on in a lab, I would translate as above, i.e.
"32000 vials were emptied and discarded by the laboratory technicians..." or staff it that is more appropriate.

from the processing area

Explanation:
It does sound like a physical "area" or standpoint which allows to define a "left side".
In the gea-ps reference below, a vial loading machine is shown which is in contact with a "processing area" on one side and a "clean room area" on the other.
In the second reference (kem.de), they refer to a "Technikbereich" versus "Produktionsbereich" and accordingly a "Technikseite" versus "Reinraumseite" of their machine.
