Was able to contact the author. She recounted that this is the official wording of the revised AMG. It denotes the on-site team including the investigator, deputy investigator, physicians and nurses, i.e. any healthcare professional taking active part in the study. I'm going with "Investigator's study team", until further notice. She also lamented the word choice, as in the past Prüfgruppe has often been used to denote a group of study subjects.

you can deduct that these are not study subjects (Mitglieder). As the text also mentions "Studienteam", a Prüfgruppe must be some kind of monitoring group that includes persons beyond those carrying out the actual study. Persons in this group need to be "qualifiziert". The term seems to exist only in Ethics Committee parlance.

Could it be that the "Prüfgruppe" are doctors that carry out tests on patients/volunteers? It would helpful to know if the "Prüfgruppe"tests subjects, and the results of said tests are then assessed by the "Prüfer".

First thought it referred to groups of study patients, but some kind of "review/monitoring group" seems more likely here.
The text also mentions a "Studienteam", so am assuming that the Prüfgruppe is something else(?)
