Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals
German term or phrase: Anwendungsgebiet
I'm wondering about the translation of 'Anwendungsgebiet' specifically in a medical/pharmaceutical context, i.e. the Anwendungsgebiete eines Arzneimittels. 'Field of application' doesn't seem to fit in this context.

The text is about the registering of new medication/new 'Anwendungsgebiete' for existing medication. Information must be provided on the zugelassene Anwendungsgebiete, medizinischer Nutzen etc.

I have found the term 'indication' - could any medical/pharmaceutical translators let me know if this is an appropriate term or if there is a better one I should be using?

Explanation:
Hi Charlotte,

I would go for indication. The links I provided use "indication" in exactly the same manner as German sites of the same kind use "Anwendungsgebiete".
