Explanation:
Vlies and Fließ are simply different words - you can't just assume that Fließpapier and Papiervlies are the same thing. (Try Googling for Papiervlies - most of the refs. you get will be to nappy liners, which certainly aren't the same as blotting paper).

Vlies usually refers to a strong, non-woven material (the sort of thing that impregnated wipes etc. are made of). So I suggest lint-free paper although it's not a direct translation - it is strong and doesn't leave fibres on the object being wiped, which is probably the point here.
