Philosophy / Social sciences
German term or phrase: Gottesgesetz?
The word is part of a book title, the book was written in 1934 by Friedrich Gogarten.
Any suggestions for "Gottesgesetz"?
The title is being quoted in a philosophy book written in German (not yet published) about the philosophy behind the student in 1968/

law of God
Explanation:
Acc. to this reference:

One of the most rabid of the “German Christian” theologians, Friedrich Gogarten, equated the law of the German people with the law of God. See Einheit von Evangelium und Volkstum? (Hamburg: Hanseatische Verlagsanstalt, 1933), pp. 8–15.

The difference between "Law of God" and "God's law" is a nuance; to my sense, "law of God" is the more accurate translation of "Gottesgesetz". The full book title, BTW, is "Ist Volksgesetz Gottesgesetz. Auseinandersetzung mit meinen Kritikern" by Gogarten

God's law

Explanation:
Same idea as Cilian's answer, of course, just a bit more streamlined, which ought to work better in your title. I assume this -- http://books.google.com/books?id=XSzppwAACAAJ -- is the book in question? Funny, to me, 'Volksgesetz' is the thornier problem ... people's law? Public law?

Notes to answerer
Asker: "Ist Volksgesetz Gottesgesetz. Auseinandersetzung mit meinen Kritikern" by Gogarten. I have a slight preferrence for "Law of God", although I find it difficult to explain why. "God's Law" is also an option.
