(literally) adequately postulate Explanation: very difficult to say. the objectives which are still to be achieved must, at the same time, be (deemed) adequately postulated. without the "als" as in "als angemessen" -- the "angemessen" seems an adverb describing how (in this case "adequately/appropriately) something should be assumed/postulated. Not very sensible. one way to see it would be: deem (something) reasonably attainable (achievable) Explanation: I don't know what the "zu Erreichende" is/means - there are several possibilities (that which can or must be attained, achieved..) My answer is really conditional. More context would help find the best-fitting English equivalent. that which must/can be attained/achieved (= the declared objective/goal or the projected goal) must, at the same time, be reasonably attainable / be deemed reasonably attainable. But the angemessen here simply implies adequately postulated/assumed/expectable? or even - "must be adequately deemed" - which doesn't make much sense. More thoughts: "das zu Erreichende" is that what is supposed to be achieved (as an objective), in other words, the defined objective(s) or that which CAN be achieved/gained etc. "muss zugleich ALS angemessen vorausgesetzt werden können": If you define an objective, it must be realistic to achieve it/must be a reasonably achievable/adequate objective/goal or, maybe closer to what is meant, maybe... must, at the same time, be reasonably expectable http://www.nrb.state.vt.us/wrp/docs/Proposed Amendments to S... deem reasonably attainable Without more information, I can however not be 100% sure about what is to be expressed here. ------------------------------------------------- the "erst" I would translate as still or yet: that which must/can still (yet) be attained/achieved or: is yet to be achieved/attained or maybe even: the objectives yet to be fulfilled/achieved must, at the same time (also) be fair objectives / deemed fair objectives -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 hrs (2009-10-19 02:37:45 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- link fix: http://www.nrb.state.vt.us/wrp/docs/Proposed Amendments to S... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 hrs (2009-10-19 02:46:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- corr: comma after "at the same time": the objectives yet to be fulfilled/achieved must, at the same time (,) (also) be fair objectives / deemed fair objectives -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day3 hrs (2009-10-19 21:44:44 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- based on your further context, my first suggestion - adequately postulated /assumed seems to make sense. :) |
