I dont seem to be able to guess that term. I thought it meant adolescents have a longing for being indoors (as a result of insecurity) but that may not be the case. All ideas welcome!

and, by extension, fully part of the "in crowd" i.e. the real swingers as they used to say in the 1960s (does that date me?)

some song lyrics as an example:

I'm in with the in crowd
(Do you wanna be in with me)
I go where the in crowd goes
(Do you wanna be in with me)
I'm in with the in crowd
(Do you wanna be in with me)
And I know what the in crowd knows
(Do you wanna)

"yearning" as a weaker option in this context ("longing" or "strong desire" are more suitable)
