hello all, just telephoned Switzerland and spoke with the bearer. "Vis." is not part of the academic title, nor is it an indication of a proof-read a colleague's writing. it is, in fact, a doctor reminding himself that he has sent out a letter after review, something like a 'completed' note. someone figure doctors. thank you all; Brigitte and Johanna you had the right idea. thank you again. theo

Soviel ich weiß (ich habe es jetzt nicht recherchiert) entspricht in der Ärztesprache das Schweizer "visieren" dem österreichischen "vidieren", was "to check" bedeutet. Das hieße dann im konkreten Fall, dass der betreffende Psychologe das Schreiben/die Diagnose eines Kollegen geprüft hat.

I've got the feeling that it is not 'namely.' the context is the end of a letter, with 1. signature; 2. title and name; 3. profession; and 4. company name ... also, this psychologist works in the field of traffic psychology, so i thought initially it had to do with vision, however i could find absolutely no references ... theo
