I think there must be an English technical term for this, rather than "conception of the construct" or something simple like that. But I'm not coming up with anything that sounds like English. The construct refers (somehow) to the way these screening tests are designed.

Man bezeichnet Konstrukte dieser Art (hypothetische Konstrukte) wegen ihrer prinzipiellen Erweiterungsfähigkeit und permanenten Erweiterung im Zuge der theoretischen Entwicklung auch als offene Konstrukte....Für Konstrukte gibt es deshalb auch keinen „Einheitstest“, etwa zur Erfassung der Intelligenz, noch ist es sinnvoll, einen solchen Test anzustreben.

Vor dem Hintergrund dieses **Konstruktverständnisses** geben Testkonstrukteure häufig nicht genau genug an, welche Aspekte von Intelligenz ihr Test primär zu erfassen gestattet. Für den I-S-T 2000 R sind elf Intelligenzbereiche spezifiziert, die mit diesem Test erfasst werden können. Ihre genaue Bedeutung und ihr Stellenwert aus der Sicht der neueren Intelligenzstrukturforschung ist im Manual des Tests ausführlich dargelegt.... Neben der Konvergenz in wesentlichen Grundlagenfragen wie beim **Konstruktverständnis** verfügt sie inzwischen vor allem über eine Vielzahl leistungsfähiger inhaltlicher Konzepte.
