German term or phrase: Verzweigungsoptionen
Sentence before:

Gestaltpsychologische Modelle haben aufgezeigt, wie Sinneswahrnehmungen formal strukturiert werden, um als Erkennungseinheiten weiterverarbeitet zu werden.

Actual sentence:

Doch schon bei dieser Strukturierung wurden (Verzweigungsoptionen) sichtbar, die nur durch die Induzierung von semantischen Mustern aus übergeordneten Deutungsnetzwerken einer kontextadäquaten Klärung zugeführt werden können.

Sentence after:

Sensorischer Input ist also von Anfang an auf ein Repertoire von Deutungsmatrizen angewiesen, um zu epistemisch wirksamer Information verdichtet zu werden.

My attempt so far (far from finished - I'm trying to understand what is going here...):

This structuring already revealed (Verzweigungsoptionen), that can only be given a contextually adequate explanation by the (induction?) of semantic patterns of higher networks of interpretation.

I'm struggling with this one, any insights would be appreciated :)

Explanation:
When in doubt, go for the simple, obvious solution! The author hasn't explained what they mean by this, but it's not your problem.

I suggest something like

During the structuring process, branching options become apparent. These can be clarified in a context-appropriate manner only by using semantic patterns from higher-level networks of meaning.

I'm guessing it means something like "alternative ways of interpreting sensory data", but I'd stick to the German.

I think "in context" would be better than "in a context-appropriate manner".
