from a text about the handling of roll goods (fabric on rolls) at a Swiss company. The exact context is a (badly written) letter to a supplier detailing changes to the way fabric should be delivered. The first of a list of stipulations (unfortunately not a full sentence) is:

"Originaletiketten Lieferant mit Brutto/Netto Metermenge".

I understand people in the trade talk about "Stofflänge" and "Metermenge" but don't know either term in English.

aargh - hatte eben noch mehr Beispiele und bin dann auf den falschen Knopf gekommen. Bei Google roll&length suchen ergibt ca. 70.000 Treffer.

Wie dem auch sei - dies löst das Problem zwischen Yards und Metern. Komischerweise habe ich für die Länge nur Meterangaben gesehen, Breiten auch in Inches, aber das kann Zufall sein.
