Auf 25 Meter Wassertiefe wurde der luvseitige BB – Anker geworfen und zunächst 8 Kettenlängen in einem Durchgang gesteckt, um schon beim Ausziehen von ca. 200 Meter Kette über den Grund Energie heraus zu nehmen. Bei 8 Kettenlängen zu Wasser sollte das Schiff dann mit Hilfe der Bremse und dem Stecken dreier weiterer Längen Kette langsam in den Wind gedreht und aufgestoppt werden.
