Explanation:
“Tauraum” in this context refers to the space available for the rope inside a block under operating conditions. It is not a cable locker or long term store for ropes, but describes the layout of the inside of the block.

Ther German term “Tauraum” sounds a bit strange to me, possibly because there is no other “proper” term for this particular area inside a block.

For your translation I would use something along the line of: “…insert the rope into the space available…”
