German term or phrase: Ist-Anayse
Can I use "baseline analysis" as a translation here, rather than "actual analysis" and variations thereof?

Context:
academic study of interventions to promote independence in old age. The study aims to first record and analyse the activities currently offered to the old people in day centres in a town before launching a coherent package of activities aimed at increasing independence and self-reliance. The Ist-Analyse will be used to draw conclusions about gender-related differences in use of the facilities. The intervention will aim to reduce these gender differences.

So baseline, right?
What do you think?

agree  Rhoda Kriek: I agree with analysis of the current situation. A technical translation would also be as-is analysis in the context of processes but given your context I'd go with Ramey's suggestion.
