I'm translating a summary of tests done on a series of shifting system groupsets. The review of one of the groupsets contains the following assessment:

Einzig die robuste Alu-Kurbel wirkt im Vergleich zu den hochwertigen Carbon- Kurbeln weniger edel. Dennoch bleibt das Gruppengewicht locker unter zwei Kilo. Die Bandbreite (420 Prozent) ist dafür nicht überragend, vielen Touren- und AM-Bikern wird zudem der kleinste Gang mit 30:42 zu dick sein. Zumal an die [XX]-Kurbel kein kleines 28er- Kettenblatt passt.

dicker Gang= große Übersetzung= hoher Gang=high gear

Bei Schaltwerken sind die Schrauben oft mit „h“ (high gear) und „l“ (low gear) gekennzeichnet. Der hohe Gang bedeutet große Übersetzung, also das kleine Ritzel. Sind Schrauben nicht markiert, hilft nur der Versuch.
