"Cut length" is the length of fabric after allowances have been made for headings and hems.


"Stoffcoupons" sind einfach Stoffstücke in einer bestimmten Länge.

Normalerweise sind sie bereits auf diese Länge zugeschnitten. Man kauft also nicht ein Stück Stoff, dass dann in der gewünschten Länge erst von der Rolle geschnitten wird, sondern ein Stück Stoff, was schon in einer bestimmten Länge abgeschnitten wurde (oder von dem einfach nur noch diese Länge vorhanden ist).
Häufig sind Stoffcoupons auch Reststücke ("Restcoupons"). Von einem Stoff ist z.B. nur noch 1 Meter übrig, dann wird er als 1-Meter-Coupon verkauft.
Im Einzelhandel oder auf dem Stoffmarkt sind Stoffcoupons meist 1,50 Meter lang und werden auf Wühltischen verkauft.
