Hinter der doppeltürmigen Westfassade mit einer vielfach gegliederten Rose (großes Radfenster) mit 9 m Durchmesser im Zentrum, liegt das dreischiffige Langhaus mit begleitenden Seitenkapellen und als Ostabschluss der mächtige Hallenumgangschor, an dessen Südseite eine zweistöckige Sakristei eingefügt ist. Der Landesbischof/die Landesbischöfin der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Bayern wird jeweils in der Lorenzkirche in sein/ihr Amt eingeführt.

L’église St-Laurent (Lorenzkirche), de style gothique, fut commencée en 1270. La façade Ouest fut édifiée entre 1353 et 1362. Le chœur en « halle » fut ajouté entre 1439 et 1477. Dans le chœur, on peut voir une couronne de bois sculpté, la Salutation angélique (Englische Gruss) (1517-1518) de Veit Stoss. L’église fut reconstruite après la Seconde Guerre mondiale.
