Eos ist die griechische Göttin der Morgenröte und Tochter des Hyperion und der Theia. Ihre Geschwister sind der Sonnengott Helios und die Mondgöttin Selene. In der Antike sah man Eos' Aufgabe darin, dem Sonnenwagen ihres Bruders Helios den Weg über den Himmel zu bahnen.
Verheiratet war Eos jedoch mit Aiolos, dem Gott des Windes; manche meinen, dass deshalb bei Sonnenaufgang öfters ein Wind aufkommt. Ihre vier Kinder sind die Winde aus den 4 Windrichtungen: Zephyr, Notos, Boreas und Euros. Weitere Söhne der Eos sind Phosphoros und Memnon. Ihren vor Troja gefallenen Sohn Memnon beweint Eos noch immer, und ihre Tränen fallen als Tau vom Himmel.

Ihre vier Kinder sind die Winde aus den 4 Windrichtungen: Zephyr, Notos, Boreas und Euros. Weitere Söhne der Eos sind Phosphoros und Memnon. Ihren vor Troja gefallenen Sohn Memnon beweint Eos noch immer, und ihre Tränen fallen als Tau vom Himmel. Außerdem bringen auf ihren Befehl Vögel alljährlich ihr Blut als Totenopfer dar.

Eos
Eos ist die griechische Göttin der Morgenröte. Eos ist Tochter des Hyperion und der Theia sowie Schwester von Helios und Selene.
Die rosenfingrige Eos entführte Tithonos als ihren Gemahl, erbat für ihn von Zeus Unsterblichkeit. Dabei vergaß sich aber auch um ewige Jugend zu bitten.
Der greise zusammengeschrumpfte Tithonos wurde schließ in eine Zikade verwandelt. Beider Söhne sind Memnon und Emathion.
Dem Astraios gebar Eos die Winde, Boreas, Notos Euros und Zephyros.
Eos liebte und entführte auch den Jäger Orion und den Kephalos.
