Il detto si rifà, evidentemente, a un’epoca pre-industriale, in cui si consumano prodotti coltivati in proprio. Il significato è che tutto ciò che è estraneo viene rifiutato. La traduzione dipende molto dal contesto in cui l’espressione è inserita, dal ragionamento complessivo, dalla “logica” che si vuole dimostrare. La mia è una traduzione più o meno letterale, che non corrisponde a un modo di dire, ma il cui senso, traslato, mi pare ben intuibile. Da valutare appunto nel contesto dell’argomentazione generale, del messaggio che si vuole veicolare.. |
