Si parla ancora della lega anseatica:

Mit der Gründung der „Genossenschaft deutscher Gotlandfahrer“ im Jahr 1161 startete ein gigantischer Warenaustausch mit dem Ausland, heute besser unter den Begriffen „Import“ und „Export“ bekannt. Der ***lose Fahr-tenbund*** lieferte mit Frachtschiffen, den späteren „Hansekoggen“, Salz, Getreide und preußischen Bernstein in sämtliche Ostseestädte und brachte auf dem Rückweg russische Pelze, Wachs, Teer und Fisch nach Nordeuropa.

Per Fahrtenbund può andare associazione/lega dei navigatori? riuniva appunto i commercianti tedeschi che operavano con l'estero. Mentre lose è una di quelle parole che spesso mi mettono in crisi :-( Mi dà l'idea di una rete a maglie larghe ma non mi viene un'espressioen più sintetica (peraltro il titolo del paragrafo è appunto: Vom losen Fahrtenbund zur "Hanse Alemaniae").
