Estoy corrigiendo una traducción y el traductor sugiere como traducción "caja", lo cual me parece demasiado literal. ¿Existe una alternativa mejor?

Außerdem wird im Projektbüro eine Kasse geführt. Die Kasse darf nie einen Minusbestand aufweisen. Für ihre rechtzeitige Auffüllung (in der Regel aus dem Projekt-Bankkonto) ist zu sorgen. Schon aus Sicherheitsgründen ist der Bestand der Kasse klein zu halten. Er sollte einen durchschnittlichen Zweiwochenbedarf nicht übersteigen.
Die Kasse muss monatlich von der Länder-/Regionalleitungphysisch gezählt werden. Die Korrektheit des Kassenbestandes wird von dem/der* Kassierer/in, der Buchhaltung und der Länder-/Regionalleitung mit Unterschrift bestätigt. Das Protokoll ist Bestandteil der Unterlagen für die Monatsabrechnung.
