I am translating operating instructions for hydraulic systems. There is a distinction between Hydraulikaggregate and Hydraulikbaugruppen.

I have used "grupo" for Aggregat, as commonly found in technical texts, but I cannot find a consistent translation for Baugruppe and the difference is quite subtle. As defined in Wikipedia:

Eine Baugruppe (auch Montagegruppe, kurz Gruppe) ist ein in sich geschlossener, aus zwei oder mehr Teilen oder Baugruppen niederer Ordnung bestehender Gegenstand, wobei ein Einzelteil ein technisch beschriebener, nach einem bestimmten Arbeitsablauf zu fertigender bzw. gefertigter, nicht zerlegbarer Gegenstand ist. Maßgeblich für diese Definition ist die DIN 6789 Dokumentationssystematik

Das Aggregat (von lat. aggregare ,beigesellen‘, anhäufen‘) in der Technik, besonders der Elektrotechnik und dem Maschinenbau, ist ein Maschinensatz aus mehreren zusammenwirkenden Einzelmaschinen, -apparaten oder -geräten. Dabei wird meistens eine Kraftmaschine mit einer Arbeitsmaschine zur Erfüllung einer bestimmten technologischen Funktion gekoppelt.

In the translation text it is stated that "Hydraulikaggregate sind unvollständige Maschinen" and "Hydraulikbaugruppen sind keine unvollständigen Maschinen" (it might be an error because afterwards it states that both can only work as complements to form a proper machine, thus, both seem to be an incomplete machine, need to clarify with client).

Options:

Aggregat: grupo
Baugruppe: conjunto, módulo, ...

Creo que esto se puede traducir con bastante libertad, el Ernst técnico da Aggregat = grupo, unidad y Baugruppe = grupo constructivo, subgrupo, subconjunto (o sea un poco al revés que tu texto)

Yo optaría por términos neutros y que no den a entender que uno es una cuasimáquina y el otro no (a no ser que tu cliente te lo confirme). Por ejemplo si ya has usado grupo para Aggregat, usar unidad para Baugruppe. O también en efecto jugar con conjunto, módulo
