Greek term or phrase: ανώνυμη εταιρεία

Can this term be translated with "limited" or "limited company," or is it a Greek term(translation into Greek of the French "societe anonyme") which has no precise equivalent in English? I thought the latter was true, but a client just corrected me, recommending that I "search the Web" for translations of terms.
