Δεν αναφέρεται σε μυθολογικό πρόσωπο. Επειδή οι λέξεις fairy, elf έχουν συνδεθεί πολύ με role play, άρχοντα των δαχτυλιδιών κλπ, ψάχνω για μια άλλη λέξη. Ξωτικό στο κείμενό μου σημαίνει έναν άνθρωπο που αγγίζει τα όρια της πραγματικότητας. Είναι πραγματικός άνθρωπος όμως η παρουσία του είναι αέρινη σαν του ξωτικού, έμφανίζεται στη ζωή σου κι εξαφανίζεται κατά βούληση, υπάρχει και δεν υπάρχει.

In the sense of s'th that appears and then disappears. A chimera has no face, ironic that it's Greek ;-)). I have heard "chimera" being used in some instances to denote a "thing" , often a supernatural or metaphysical being.

Asker: "ghost" is more the idea. Perhaps "spirit" or "spiritual being", "invisible being"? Does this have a UFO connotation?

agree  Carolyn Brice: According to dictionary definitions, sprite would fit the bill: 1. A small or elusive supernatural being; an elf or pixie. 2. An elflike person, 3. A spectre or ghost, 4. (Archaic.) A soul (from dictionary.com)
