Ο χαμηλός φωτισμός του δωματίου έστειλε δυο σκιές να πέσουν πάνω στα κάθετα τεντώματα του λεπτού λαιμού της κάνοντας την ποίηση του χρόνου λυρική και δυσβάσταχτη.
The low lighting of the room cast two shadows along the taut vertical muscles of her slender neck, making the poetry of time lyrical yet unbearable.
Not quite sure if I have got this right, plus 'the taut vertical muscles' sounds a bit clinical for the context.

Thanks very much. I like the alliteration of 'sharp lines of her slender neck'. 'Sinews' was equally good, and also has the alliteration, but I think sharp lines fits better here.
