מהנדס Explanation: בתקופה שבה חייתי בישראל, יצא לי לא פעם לשמוע את הביטוי: (מישהו) מהנדס/מסדר קומבינות. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 20 mins (2009-04-13 21:06:16 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It would have helped had you chosen the language direction to be Hebrew-English.. Anyway, the closest thing that comes to mind is "Doctor". As in, "come to the Doctor, he'll take good care of you"/"Doc can get you a good deal". |

shady businessman / swindler Explanation: The definition is someone who fraud others to get what he wants, or to direct the outcomes into his\hers direction, scheme schemes, etc. - dishonest man. Shady businessman simply describes this - but I think that swindler might be a better option. There are other options as well, but I find swindler really suitable. |

schemer Explanation: A קומבינטור is someone who knows how to go about getting stuff done, either legally or otherwise although not so much the criminal type. It is actually derived from the English word combination - one who knows how to combine things/situations to get what he needs. |
