neutral  Ron Armon: Generalized is accurate (good source BTW!), but Erez was first with it.

-> True, we typed around the same time but he was first to post. However I'm not sure about this term since there is a need for some more context in my opinion

General spike and wave breakthroughs

Explanation:
התפרצויות in Hebrew feels to me like a stronger word than discharges for which I think there is a very similar word in Hebrew, namely התפרקות. I think they are talking about breakthrough epileptic seizures where although one speaks of spike and wave discharges, there is a certain level which is regarded as a breakthrough level. It is difficult to give reference material because sites are restricted.

If desert fox disagrees with me, go with what he advises you.

I suggest you send a private message to desert fox on Proz.com because I think he dealt with a similar translation in August 2008 and might be able to give you a definitive answer.

disagree  Ron Armon: I'd understand Outbreaks or Outbursts, but breakthroughs???

-> Disagree with Ron's comment. An outbreak or outburst can come from nowhere - from zero level. A breakthrough is something which pierces through a level which is already at a certain limit. And they do say "breakthrough" seizures in Epilepsy in English.
