Building fire protection design
The fire protection plan describes the fire protection system of the building to ensure the protection of persons and assets.
In the plan the building is assigned to a risk class and the firestop solution is defined. In larger buildings, fire sections and fire separation distances are established, with a view to the fire resistance performance of the structures used.
Another part of the design process is to designate and mark the escape routes used for evacuation in case of fire, to decide the location of firefighter stage areas and internal fire-fighting installations (fire extinguisher, fire hydrants, fire hoses) and the calculation of related fire fighting water requirements.
It is important that in the course of the design process of a building, fire protection experts and architects should have regular discussions, so that the firestop solution can be designed in such a way that it does not affect usability and design.
The fire protection plan is devised according to Decree 54/2014 (XII.5.) BM of the Ministry of Interior.
