onrunning Explanation: This is more relevant to soap operas. An onrunning series is one being filmed a few episodes ahead of being shown, eg Coronation Street, OB. The production has to therefore continually keep ahead of the screening date. However it could have a secondary meaning of a feature-length film made hurriedly to satisfy market demand, a sort of “jumping on the bandwagon” film.
