Je moet eigenlijk de hele zin geven om hier een goede vertaling van te maken, want wat precies voor hun verborgen of onbekend blijft, kan ik uit deze korte zin niet opmaken.

Asker: Ecco Lo scrittore vicentino Guido Piovene sostenne che Lucca fosse la sola città italiana rimasta totalmente chiusa e circondata da alte mura, costruite nei secoli XVI e XVII, e che ancora si nascondesse agli occhi di coloro che si avvicinassero provenendo dalle pianure circostanti.
