Tech/Engineering - Architecture / Vitruvian distinction
Italian term or phrase: attacco a terra
Hi everyone, I'd like to ask a question about the Vitruvian distinction in architecture
The sentence I have is about 3 main features described by Vitruvio

attacco a terra - fusto - coronamento
I understand that fusto should be shaft in architecture , coronamento is the crowning element, but what is "attacco a terra" when referred to a building?
Raffaella
English translation:Ground connection
Explanation:
In a sense, "attached to the ground." I have seen similar phrasal constructions in Spanish when talking about pump installments.
