Italian term or phrase: Progr. 3723- UNI A/5
At the very end of an Italian Marriage Certificate there are these abbreviations and figures: Progr.3723- UNI A/5. Further numbers follow, and the string ends with Tipograf. comunale. While I am imagining that all of the above are connected to the printers and relate to batches and the like, I can't think of any actual term that Progr. could be short for, or what UNI stands for. I hope that someone can help me. Thanks in advance for any illumination. Isobel

Sequantial number 3723- ISO A5 size
Explanation:
Progr.-->progressivo-->sequential
UNI A/5-->ISO A5, cause UNI stands for "ente Nazionale Italiano di Unificazione", that adopted the size format A5 from ISO International Organization for Standardization (about this I am sure)

Thank you isobel and sorry for the typo (I wrote sequantial instead of sequential)

Thank you for your detailed answer, Claudia. An earlier reply from Marco confirmed Progr = progressive = sequential, but your interpretation of UNI, which I am sure is correct, is also very helpful. Thanks very much!
